Encore: I Can't Dance/ I Know What I Like (Medley) / Turn It On Again / No Son Of Mine / The Carpet Crawlers

Fantastic night, last night. A pub in the middle of an industrial estate was the rather strange venue! The band gave us another great performance of a vast number of great Genesis songs, old and not so old. A great time was had by all.

We got a few 'new' numbers from the band including "Fountain of Salmacis" in the main set (and very well performed) and "Carpet Crawlers" as an impromptu final encore. We also got the additional stripped down "No Son of Mine", with only Dave (on extremely impressive vocals) and Richard (on keys).

Riverside Music Festival, Gravesend - Saturday, August 1, 1998

Mama / Land Of Confusion / Jesus He Knows Me / Invisible Touch / I Know What I Like (Medley) / I Can't Dance / Turn It On Again

Great stuff! And if you're in a fifty mile radius (or more if you like), then there's no excuse to not be at the Grey Horse in Kingston tonight for the full length set.

The Standard Music Venue, Walthamstow, London E17 - Saturday, June 6, 1998

Dodo - Lurker / Abacab / Domino / Misunderstanding / Deep In The Motherlode / One For The Vine / Jesus He Knows Me / Fading Lights / Squonk / Land Of Confusion / Home By The Sea - Second Home By The Sea / Invisible Touch / Dance On A Volcano - Drum Solo - Los Endos

Encore: I Can't Dance / No Son Of Mine / Turn It On Again

...the show was indeed a stormer. In a few places I had my eyes shut and it sounded like Genesis were actually playing in front of you! Dave is really getting the hang of this front person business, especially with getting the audience involved. The rest of the band are also still getting better and better, as I said with the eyes closed it is beginning to get very true to the original.

And I was truly amazed that they carried "No Son Of Mine" off considering the zero rehearsal it had, maybe they should make a surprise request section a feature of future shows (I wonder if the know the chords to "Build Me A Mountain" yet :-).

The Grey Horse, Kingston - Saturday, May 23, 1998

Dodo - Lurker / Abacab / Domino / Misunderstanding / Deep In The Motherlode / One For The Vine / Jesus He Knows Me / Fading Lights / Squonk / Land Of Confusion / Home By The Sea - Second Home By The Sea / Invisible Touch / Dance On A Volcano - Drum Solo - Los Endos

Encore: I Can't Dance / Turn It On Again

"Domino" was more powerful than I expected in such a small venue, and is already sounding very polished, with some very effective keyboards and drums. Dave has now well and truly established himself as a fine singer with just the right range and performance traits (plus he's a really nice guy). His rapport with the others (especially Tony on bass) is strong, and he is interacting nicely with the audience. Great value, great entertainment.

...congratulations to the band for what was probably their finest show yet! A few small mistakes here and there, but nothing too distracting... Dave Whitehouse on vocals is proving to be a superb choice and his voice held out good and strong right to the end :)) Richard Mills on keyboards is developing the now famous Tony-bob quite well and played consistently well all night. Phil Durga Duke on drums was in full control despite developing cramp and having to play through it! Ouch! Tony Burton on bass, bass pedals and double neck maintained the solid rhythm section extremely well...

The new version of Invisible Touch played their first gig earlier tonight - new because of their brand new singer Dave Whitehouse. He's definitely done his homework on how Phil sung the songs live plus he's also got a good range. Excellent, just what the band needed! Some really great moments in the second half of the set. The medley was a stonker, especially the "In The Cage" section. I'd genuinely recommend going to see them... they are getting really good.

Gary Best

The rhythm section found their groove and stayed there - Tony Burton providing the superb bass work which seems to be becoming his trademark. He also played a double neck guitar, so he's alright by me! The keys were played with the usual style and panache... drums were provided by the inimitable Phil... Dave Whitehouse put in a very strong performance despite the fact that it was his first gig.

If you're in London around an Invisible Touch gig, do not miss it.
